Botox Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. Made from a purified medical protein called Botulinum A Toxin, it is injected into the targeted area. BOTOX injections have the ability to relax the muscles reducing contractions that cause wrinkles, giving the face a rejuvenated younger look. It takes just a few minutes and can last up to 3-6 months. Average treatment starts at 20-24 units. More may be recommended.

1. How does BOTOX work?
Movement of the muscles of the face causes the skin to crease. Over time the skin becomes less elastic. Repeated movement creates visible lines. BOTOX relaxes these muscles thereby softening lines and wrinkles in the skin.

2. Who is BOTOX for?
For anyone over the age of 18 who is concerned with lines or wrinkles between the brows, on the forehead or around the eyes (crow’s feet). We recommend that dynamic wrinkles, the kind of lines that show on your face when you make expressions, are best addressed early, before they become more permanent passive lines.

3. Is Treatment with BOTOX painful?
Botox injection is a simple 15-minute process consisting of a few tiny injections with a fine gauge needle. Topical numbing cream or a cold pack may be used prior to injection. Any discomfort is usually minimal and brief.

4. Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?
Although results are visible, BOTOX will not radically change your facial expressions or make you look like you’ve “had work done”. The muscle activity that causes wrinkles is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised, you’ll just be surprised without the wrinkles!

5. When will I see results and how long will they last?
Within days you may see a marked improvement in the treated areas. The appearance of lines and wrinkles continues to soften for up to a month, but most people experience the peak benefit at about 1 week. Your results will last up to 3-4 months.

6. What about Men?
Men are concerned about their appearance too. Pronounced lines between his brows or across the forehead may be perceived as tired, angry, or stressed, even when that’s not the case. Men are increasingly choosing BOTOX in Corpus Christi.

7. Is there any down time with this procedure?
No, however it is advised to avoid tanning beds, exercise and alcohol the day of your treatment.

8. How much is it?
Botox treatment is priced by the quantity used (units). Each treatment requires a consultation to determine how many units are necessary to address your individual concerns.

Juvederm is the new generation in Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers. It is a hyaluronic acid gel that is injected below your skin to smooth and soften wrinkles, facial lines and scars. It is also used to add volume and “plump up” areas of the face that have become sallow with age.
Most treatments require two or more syringes for desired results, however a cosmetic consultation will help to address your main concerns and treatment plan. Starting at $500 per syringe.

1. What does Juvederm do?
It is an injectable gel that adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smooth appearance to the face.

2. What is Juvederm indicated for?
Juvederm is indicated for the correction of moderate to deep facial wrinkles and folds. The most common areas treated are the “smile lines” around the nose and mouth and the fine lines above the mouth. Juvederm is also used to lessen the downward slant at the corners of the mouth and to increase the fullness of the lips. Dermal fillers can be used to raise scar depressions and replace soft-tissue volume loss in specific areas of the face.

3. How long do the results last?
Juvederm is the only hyaluronic acid filler FDA approved to last up to one year.

4. Is treatment painful?
A topical numbing agent is applied to the area prior to injection to minimize discomfort. We administer the newest product called Juvederm XC that contains Lidocane to ease discomfort even more.

5. What are the possible side effects?
Most side effects are mild in nature and their duration is short. The most common side effects are temporary injection site reactions such as redness, tenderness, firmness,lumps/bumps and mild bruising.

6. Is there any down time with this procedure?
Allow approximately 30-60 minutes for the procedure itself. While there may be some redness or slight swelling, most clients experience no downtime. Bruising can be covered by make-up and no further maintenance is required.

Created by Allergan, the makers of BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM®, VOLUMA XC is the first and only FDA-approved filler to instantly add volume to the cheek area. VOLUMA is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your body that helps to add volume and hydration, and the unique cross-linking of VOLUMA allows it to be a thicker, plumper gel than other hyaluronic acid fillers. Additionally, VOLUMA is unique because it is less hydrophilic than other  JUVÉDERM® products, meaning it pulls less water to itself after injection. What does this mean for you? Less swelling! VOLUMA has been shown to last up to two years, when injecting amounts for full correction.

VOLUMA is injected under the skin into three main areas of the cheek. The exact placement and amount will depend upon each patient’s volume loss in these areas.

Average treatment begins with approximately 5 syringes however each patient will have different needs.  You will leave the office having minimal discomfort or other affects and be able to return to normal activities.

    • There is a treatment protocol for Hyperhydrosis treatment with botox. The treatment can involve doses of 100 units and more and lasts about 2 months. Unfortunately, we no longer offer that treatment. I am not certain who does offer it locally. I’m sorry we cannot help you with that one. I have been told that there is a one time laser treatment that recently came out. I would totally check into that!
